Hi! We'll be at WDW at the end of March using the DP. We want to leave parks midday to avoid crowds. Can you recommend good counter service restaurants at any of the resorts? (Staying at Pop but don't want to eat there every day.) Thanks!

    Hi Rachel:

Some of the best counter service on Disney property are at Resorts, which can be, but are not always, less crowded than Park counter service restaurants.  Resort counter service restaurants tend to have less seating than Park counter service restaurants, so while generally fewer Guests dine at Resort counter service restaurants at lunch, it could be that the Resort counter service restaurant's seating may be close to full.

That being said, I highly recommend you check out Captain Cooks at the Polynesian.  We ate lunch there twice last month on our vacation.  I enjoyed a pork sandwich one meal and a salad for the other meal. Aside from the pork sandwich and salads, Captain Cooks offers cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, noodles, turkey, grilled cheese, noodles, flat breads, and dole whips.

We also enjoy Roaring Fork at Wilderness Lodge, which features various salads and sandwiches.  Also look into Pepper Market at Coronado Springs Resort for a huge variety of choices such as pizzas, grill, salads, sandwiches, and pastas.

I would check out the unofficial Disney website allears.net and use their search feature to look up "menus."  You'll be able to bring up recent menus from Resort quick service restaurants to get a feel for the food served at the quick service restaurants at Resorts.

    Enjoy your vacation.
