We are going to WDW the end of Feb-March 2015. I'm wondering if we could get good seats that time of year for Fantasmic w/out getting reserved seating by eating at one of the restaurants?

    Hi Liza!

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question. Yes absolutely you can get good seats at any time of year without using the Fantasmic! Dining Package.  Here are some tips:

    • Arrive 60-90 minutes ahead of the show to provide ample time for finding a seat and getting settled
    • If there are two showings of Fantasmic!, pick the second show because it usually has a smaller crowd
    • All seats have a good view because they are stadium style around a very large stage, so just find a seat where your whole family can sit together

Since it sounds like you will be visiting during a less busy time of the year, you should easily be able to secure a seat for Fantasmic! without using the Dining Package option.  Arriving for an event over an hour before it starts may sound like a lot of time, but it can be quite enjoyable ~ let me explain.  After a Magical day exploring the park, my family is ready to kick back and relax.  Approximately 90 minutes before the start of Fantasmic! we stop by a counter service or food cart location for food and drink.  We take our Meal-On-The-Go and find our seats at Fantasmic!  The time we spend chatting, eating, and drinking before the show is such a great time to relax and refresh.

Another thing we like to do while waiting for the show to begin is play a game called "Find the Person..." In this game one point is awarded to each player who identifies a person in the crowd which most closely resembles a list of people/characteristics that I have made beforehand.  Some people on my family's list include:  Twins, triplets, most colorful hair, Santa, loudest, and a boneless child. The more creative your list, the more fun it is.

    Have a Fantasmic! vacation,
