We will be in WDW in December for a family vacation, my dad is not really into the parks anymore. Are there any cooking tours or classes that I could sign him up for?? Maybe ones that are for both adults and kids??

    Hi Catie,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

What I love about our Walt Disney World vacations over all these years is that there's always just as much magic to be enjoyed inside the theme parks as outside. A few years ago there was a hands-on "Disney Family Culinary Adventure" that sounds like just what you have in mind. I called the Enchanting Extras Collection team to ask about the class, and I'm sorry to say it is no longer offered. One idea that comes to mind is the 90-minute Cake Decorating Experience at Amorette's Patisserie where you decorate a Mickey character cake. (An aside, I can tell you the Mickey Celebration Cakes are delicious!). There are a few outside-the-park experiences I've enjoyed over the years, including miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, catch-and-release fishing, Surrey bike riding, and bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. Disney Springs also makes for a family fun destination beyond the parks.

    Enjoy your Disney!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
