We are going to WDW on Dec. 14-19 and we are staying off the property about less than a mile from Downtown Disney and I planned on driving to Downtown Disney every morning and taking the bus to the parks. Are there any problems that are going to happen?

Hi, Emily!   The buses from Downtown Disney do not run directly to the theme parks.  You would need to take a bus to a Disney Resort then transfer to your theme park of choice.

I know it is nice to avoid the daily parking fee (currently about $14 per day) and it is also nice to have the bus drop you at the front gates, but all that will be off-set by the time it would take for you to wait for buses and bus transferring.

Here is the only time it will "kind of" work.   If going to Epcot, you could park at Downtown Disney and take the bus to the Beach Club.  From there, it is about a 10 minute walk to the International Gateway where you can enter Epcot.   If going to Magic Kingdom, you could park at Downtown Disney and take the bus to the Contemporary, and take the 15 minute walk over to the Magic Kingdom.

However you decide to get to the theme parks, hope your time in Walt Disney World is magical!   If you have any other questions, let us know!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
