We are going to WDW in Dec. We have the dining package. My oldest will be 10 and is a picky eater. He is counted as a adult on the plan. I think there might be a better options for him on some of the kids meals. Can he eat from there?

    Hi Tammy,

We find the Disney Dining Plan to be such a convenient way to save on meals at the Walt Disney World Resort. We absolutely LOVE it!

I completely understand having a picky eater in the family. I have one of those too! Yes your son can order from the Kids' Menus using his "adult" meal credits. However, in my experience I find that ordering items from the Kids' Menus using adult meal credits, is not necessarily the most optimal way to utilize adult meal entitlements. I typically opt to pay out-of-pocket for our picky eater's meals instead. In other words, if you are planning to order your son's meals exclusively off the Kids' Menus, I recommend paying for them using cash or credit card. If however, you would rather go ahead and use his "adult" meal entitlements to have him order items from the Kids' Menus, you'll find that most Cast Members will often bring out much larger portions of kid friendly entrées for your son.

Disney Mom Tip: When ordering his meals from the Kids' Menus and paying for them out-of-pocket, you'll end up with a surplus of dining entitlements. I recommend using those extra "adult" meal credits to pay for dining experiences requiring the use of 2 Table-Service meal credits per Guest at Fine/Signature Dining restaurants and Dinner Shows.

I hope you found this information helpful, Tammy. Please come back with more question for us. We'll be more than happy to sprinkle a little pixie-dust on all your Disney vacation plans.

Wishing you a most memorable visit to the place where The Magic is Endless!
