Will be in wdw in 9 days! Not been w/out ddp, this time we r trying it. Oldest dd is 10 & not a big eater. How much $ should we allot each day for adr/qs, snacks, drinks per day? $250 sound ok? Family of 5. Kids have gc 4 souvenirs/dh gc 4 alchohol.

Hi Michelle! It sounds like you are planning an awesome trip to Walt Disney World. Nine days there will give the opportunity to enjoy and experience all of the parks as well as some of the other great options on property.

My family personally never uses the dining plans and it is definitely something for each family to decide if it is worth it for them. We don't like to have to keep track of credits and what we eat or don't eat so the dining plan doesn't work for us in that sense.

Usually you can plan on eating one table service meal a day and at least one quick service meal. We like to have the breakfast snacks in the room which can be purchased at a resort store or use a grocery delivery service if we feel we have the space to store the perishables. If it is warm you will drink more so keep that in mind and of course once you smell that great popcorn popping you will likely need to buy some of that in the parks.

A guide to prepare for the costs will tell you that for kids at a Quick Service location plan on about $6-$10 and adults $10-$15. For table service locations this becomes tough to predict as it can vary from a $12 entree for adults to $35. If you like a good steak you will have to budget more but if you are fine with something more simple then you can keep within your $250 a day budget. I would certainly not budget anything lower then that as you will find some of the snacks to be too tempting to pass up such as a caramel from the Germany pavilion in Epcot or of course the wonderful Mickey ice cream bars.
