We will only be in WDW at for 2 days (at AKL) celebrating DD b-day. Trying to fit in Mickey VM X-Mas party. Is it better to do AK the day of MVMCP and MK the next day or stay at MK the whole day of the party - how much time do you need for AK? Ages 1,4,6

    Susan:

If you know that for the two days you will be at WDW you want to go to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom AND Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I would definitely recommend you go to Animal Kingdom on the day of the Christmas Party....

Two years ago our family spent the entire day at the Magic Kingdom in anticipation of going to the MVMCP that night.  By 2:00 p.m. the park was so packed, we were walking in a single-file line in Tomorrowland!  I made a mental note not to do that again as the three crowds (regulars in the park, park hoppers coming for the party and those holding only tickets for the party) overlapped.

If I were in your shoes, I'd go to Animal Kingdom, which can easily be covered before its afternoon parade.  Head back to your resort to freshen up and for naps, and then get to the Magic Kingdom around 5 p.m. (although they'll let you in by 4:00 p.m.)  More than likely the next day at the Magic Kingdom will not be crowded if it does not have the party.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
