We'll be at WDW for Christmas. Does entrance to the parks really get shut down because park capacity has been reached? If yes, do all parks normally get shut down most days? What happens if you have dining reservations but cannot get into the park?

    Hi there Victoria,

Christmas Day is one of the busier days to visit the Magic Kingdom, but also one of the most magical! Cinderella Castle will be glowing with sparkling icicles and every surface will be adorned with beautiful Holiday decorations.  I love visiting on Christmas, but I am always sure to arrive prior to rope drop and I make plans to stay the entire day, especially if I have a dining reservation inside the park.  It is customary for the Magic Kingdom to reach full capacity, and "close" to new guests by midday on Christmas Day, and a dining reservation does not necessarily grant access.  Park Hopping is also not recommended for these reasons so it's best to stay put wherever you end up, because reentry may not be permitted.

Since Christmas Day is one of the busiest days, it's likely that all of the parks will be busy.  If I had to choose one, it would be Magic Kingdom, purely because of the Christmas decor, but my second choice, which may be less crowded, would be Epcot!

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
