Hi. We're going to WDW this Christmas. We'll be eating one night at the Whispering Canyon. Is it possible to take a boat from MK to to the Wilderness Lodge? If so, can we walk from the boat ramp or will a bus be needed? Also we have one in a wheelchair.

    Hi Alvin,

There is a delightful boat ride that will take you from the front of the Magic Kingdom to the dock behind Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  From this dock, you can walk a relatively short distance from the boat to Whispering Canyon in the awe-inspiring lobby of this fabulous resort.  Just wait until you see this place at Christmas time.  It is gorgeous!  Don't forget your camera.

Can the family member who will be traveling in a wheel chair step down into a boat?  If not, I will recommend an alternate route.  Instead of taking the boat to the Wilderness Lodge, board a complimentary Disney bus at the front of the Magic Kingdom.  This bus ride takes only four minutes and will drop you off at the front of the Wilderness Lodge.  From here, it is a very short walk to the lobby.

Enjoy the great barbecue and tomfoolery that goes on at this fun Disney table service restaurant.
