WDW with 6 children uner age 8.. Would like to have a character meal All have gluten allergies. Two also have dairy and egg allergies. Any recommendations? Website says you can accommodate, but when you call they cannot give details on menu. HELP!

    Hi Colleen!

Congratulations on your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! You will be happy to know that there are many dining options, including Disney Character locations, that will accommodate your children's allergies. We've visited while my youngest observed a gluten-free diet. My oldest has a peanut allergy and we've been able to thoroughly enjoy many Disney restaurants.

This is what I recommend you do, contact Special Diets at SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com. They will send you an Guest Allergy/Dietary Request Form to complete. Make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) at table service restaurants by calling (407) WDW-DINE, and please alert the Cast Member of your children's allergies. The Cast Member will notate each ADR. Write down the dates, times, locations, and ADR numbers for each table service restaurant you will be visiting. Complete the Guest Allergy/Dietary Request Form, making sure to include that information and send it back to SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com.

If you book ADR online, you'll be able to make a special request to exclude gluten, dairy, and eggs in the meals. In addition, it might be helpful to alert the wait-staff at the restaurant about your children's gluten, dairy, and egg allergies. Many times the chef on duty will come out to discuss the meal options that are available at the restaurant.

In order to make informed decisions at counter service locations, be sure to request the "ingredients list book." You can talk to the manager about the various allergies, and you will then be directed to suitable items that are safe for the children to consume. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Enjoy a most magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
