Michele:
Like you, I have a family that isn't the usual two adults and two kids that fit nicely in a double-bed room! With your family of five, you'll consider which hotels offer rooms with a daybed. Since you've stayed at All-Stars, we'll throw out the Family Suites at All-Star Music, leaving us no Value Resort options.
Several of the Deluxe Resorts offer everything you want, but I noticed that cost seemed to be your #2 priority.
Port Orleans Riverside would be your first consideration. This Moderate Resort offers much for your money. The rooms at Alligator Bayou come with two double beds and a trundle. (The trundle is not a thick mattress. It's more like a cot mattress on a platform. I wouldn't recommend it for an adult, or even a teenager.) Our children were just slightly younger than yours when we stayed there, and we were comfortable. The room also included a mini refrigerator. The property has bus service to all the parks and a boat to Downtown Disney.
Many of the Deluxe Resorts offer park access and room for 5:
- Boardwalk Inn. Some rooms offer a day bed. Boat launches take you Epcot and Disney Studios, or you can walk. Its advantage is the boardwalk below.
- Beach & Yacht Club. Stormalong Bay with its water slides and lazy river give it a leg up. Like the Boardwalk Inn, you can walk or take boat launches to Epcot and Disney Studios.
- Polynesian, Contemporary and Grand Floridian. The monorail whisks you to Epcot and Magic Kingdom. They have the largest rooms on property. The Polynesian probably beats the deluxes for theme, but at a price.
Wishing you a magical vacation!
