We will be in WDW 1/5-12 with Autistic son. From past trips we know where "quiet spots" are if he gets overwhelmed in most of the parks. With the new Fantasyland can you recommend where we could find a peaceful place to take a break if we need

    Hi Cyndy!

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation for January will ensure a wonderful time spent enjoying all the new offerings at the theme parks!  From New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom to the re-imagined Test Track in Epcot and The Legend of Jack Sparrow in Hollywood Studios, there is so much to explore!

There are many quiet areas in Magic Kingdom, offering parents with special needs children a respite from the sights and sounds of the park.  One of my favorite spots is the side alley right off of Main Street U.S.A.  Very little traffic comes through this area, and its a great place to just relax and unwind for a spell.  Another great area is the small area between Casey Jr's and the First Aid Station.  There are benches and a small rose garden where your child can take a break.  In New Fantasyland, there is a small area near Gaston's Tavern (by the bathrooms) which is tucked away and relatively quiet.   A great place to relax out of the sun is at the Tomorrowland Noodle Station.  It's empty most of the day, and offers a nice respite from the busy park.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Malanie, New York

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
