We are going to WDW On August 14, with my 8 year boy, 6 year girl and 1 year girl. I want to make a reservation for a character dining. Which would be the best for the age group? We are staying at the All-Star Music Resort. Thanks

    Hi Rosezann,

You must be so excited for your upcoming vacation! Any character dining experience is great with children of this age. I do have to be honest however, you are traveling at a busy time of year. Most people make plans for character dining months in advance. It doesn't necessarily mean you won't get a reservation, but you may have to take whatever you can get.

Try Tusker House at Animal Kingdom or breakfast at 'Ohana first. I've had pretty good luck getting last minute reservations at these locations. If you're kids like Winnie the Pooh, Crystal Palace is a lot of fun. It's also really popular, but you may have luck getting a late lunch or dinner. The more flexible you can be with your dining times, the better chance you have. I know that can be tricky with small children, but you know best what your family can handle.

If you don't get a reservation right away. Keep trying each day. Guests often change their plans and cancel at the last minute. I've gotten some great same day reservations because of cancellations. You just need to have a back up plan.

Hope this helps. Good luck, and have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
