We'll be in WDW August 9-18 for my son's first visit! I've been to Disney many times before, but always in April during school vaca. I'm concerned about the crowds and heat in August. Can you tell me how April and August differ/compare in WDW?

    Hi Jaime!

You are probably facing the same crowd level if you usually come during spring break.  We visit in August every year for my children's birthday's.  I'm not going to sugar coat it, it's hot and humid, but tolerable.  Be sure to wear sunscreen, keep yourselves hydrated and take breaks in the afternoons to splash around in your resort pool or head over to a water park for a couple of hours.  The nice thing about Walt Disney World is that most of the attractions are indoors.  If you need an air conditioned break, head to an indoor show where you can sit and cool off for a little bit.

A great tip especially for hot days is that you can get complimentary cups of ice or ice water at any location that services fountain soda.  I always take advantage of this!  It might be a good investment to purchase a spray fan as well.  These help keep you cool when you're standing in lines.

    Have a magical day!
