We will be at WDW in August and my son will turn 12. I was considering the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise. Is this something even a pre-teen boy might enjoy? Any other suggestions for an evening event, if not?

    Ahoy there Dawn!

The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage is one of my favorite special experiences at WDW.  I have taken the voyage with people ranging from 2 - 70+ years & everyone has enjoyed it. Guests of all ages love interacting with Captain Hook & Mr. Smee. And who doesn't like sailing the high seas with a pirate leading the way?

Patch the Pirate is great at entertaining all ages during the voyage with jokes, trivia & a chance to win some cool prizes.  A big draw for many people is being able to see the fireworks without being elbow-to-elbow in a sea of people in the Magic Kingdom. You can relax & watch them from one of the best viewing spots ever.

I think people of all ages will enjoy Pirates & Pals, especially if you've never done it. I'm one of those people that likes to try everything at WDW at least once.  Click here to see a video of some of the Moms Panelists on this experience. If you want to try to book a voyage, I'd recommend that you try now by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.  If you have any other questions about the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage, let me know - I'm happy to help!

If you really don't think your son will like it, he may enjoy spending at evening at DisneyQuest located in the Downtown Disney area. If your son is a gamer, he'll love it! He may also enjoy designing & building his own radio controlled car at Ridemakerz also located in the Downtown Disney area.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
