I will be at WDW August 12 - 19, 2018 and I noticed that on the park schedule that Magic Kingdom is closing at 6:00 PM. I cannot find a reason for that. It probably works out because we are do Hoop-Dee-Doo at 8:30 and need travel time, but just curious.

    Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. First things first: I love that you are going to attend the Hoop-Dee-Do Musical Revue! Fabulous entertainment and seriously yummy food await you.

I checked the Park Hours for the week of your visit, and I do see that night where Magic Kingdom Park is closing at 6:00 p.m. I wish I had some insider information from the Main Mouse in Charge, but I sadly don’t know what’s going on that night. Sometimes the parks close early for special events – on my last visit, Magic Kingdom Park closed early for a Cast Member Celebration. I watched the fireworks from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and, while I was sad I wasn’t with them, I was so happy the hard-working Cast Members who do so much for our families were having a magical time.

Stephanie, my advice is to keep an eye on the Park Hours, because they are subject to change at any time. I would also keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, because if there is a special ticketed event still to be announced, you’ll likely see it there first.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
