We are going to WDW in August. Not exactly great timing since the 3 of us have asthma. My DD is 7 and has not had to use her nebulizer in a long time but I am worried about the Florida weather. If we get a GAC what will that do for us?

    Hi, Rebecca!

A Guest Assistance Card, which can be obtained at Guest Services at any park, will hopefully make the wait times for attractions more comfortable for your family.  While your wait may not necessarily be shorter, guests with medical needs can sometimes be accommodated with a different queue while waiting for an attraction.

You may want to plan ahead for the warm weather by arriving at the parks as early as possible and taking plenty of breaks.  Book fun character lunches where you will not only have some great food while meeting your favorite Disney Pals, you will also get a nice long break in a lovely air conditioned restaurant.

I am sure you will check with your family's doctors to see what advice they can give regarding a Florida vacation.  Some advice I will give is to keep hydrated by carrying water bottles or stopping often for  refreshing cups of ice water - FREE at counter service locations.  Also, make sure to schedule in plenty of breaks during the day!  There is a First Aid station at each park should you need it.

Talk to your doctor then make sure to stop by a Guest Service Desk to see how they will assist you during your magical stay in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
