I will be going to wdw in August and would like to know alternatives to view Illumintions. My son is a picky eater so La Haciendo and The Rose Pub will not offer anything he will eat. Are there locations we relax in while watching illuminations?

I would suggest finding a place around World Showcase to sit outside and enjoy the warm evening. Evenings in World Showcase are beautiful due to the charming sights and dimly lit lights.

If your son likes trains, why not sit near the Germany pavilion? Find a bench, get a snack and take turns showing your son the train.

While the crowd will line up around the railing, you can easily see the fireworks from a more comfortable location. Part of the show consists of the video shown on the Earth globe so if this is important to you, make sure that you can see the globe from your chosen seat.

We watched IllumiNations from inside La Hacienda recently and my family was disappointed in the experience. We all agreed that watching the show from outdoors was a much more exciting experience. Of course, children that do not like loud noises might do better inside.

We also like the bridge between France and the United Kingdom for a quick exit out the International Gateway. If you do not have a car, a taxi ride from the Beach Club is worth the small expense in order to get back to your resort quicker.
