Will be in WDW Aug. 3-10. Husband, I , 2 kids: 9 and 7. Have park hopper / H20 option. Arriving 1st day at 4:00. What about Typhoon L. 1st evening? Too crowded then? Suggestions for other days?! Also trying to plan time of meals: Ohana, Chef M, Boma.

Typhoon Lagoon on your first evening would work well. Many guests begin departing the water parks later in the day. With an 8 p.m. closing time, you would be able to enjoy a few hours of relaxing fun.

There are countless ways to tour WDW however for minimizing crowd impact, you should avoid parks with Extra Magic Hours.

    Aug. 3 Typhoon Lagoon until 8:00 p.m.
Aug. 4 Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom
    Aug. 5 Magic Kingdom
    Aug. 6 Hollywood Studios
Aug. 7 Magic Kingdom morning, Epcot evening
Aug. 8 Magic Kingdom or Epcot
    Aug. 9 Animal Kingdom
    Aug. 10 Epcot

For meals, I always try to book the first available seating. I like to dine early and enjoy the parks while the crowds are dining. Sometimes we’ll eat dinner at 4 p.m. in order to stay ahead of the crowds. This will be very important during early August’s peak crowd levels. Another option is to eat a late lunch and then have a later dinner. Dining mid-day during the heat of the day will get your family out of the sun for a nice respite.

Next, you’ll want to book your meals so that they conveniently fit into your schedule. Dining at Boma would work well for Animal Kingdom park days. Chef Mickey’s and ‘Ohana should be scheduled to coordinate on Magic Kingdom days. Try to minimize your time traveling between parks and restaurants. Enjoy!
