I am WDW AP but I have limited mobility and use ECV while in the parks. I have never gone to either water park because I am not sure what activities I might be able to do? I can walk short distances and some stairs can you tell me what I might be missing?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Robin!

ALL Guests can enjoy a SPLASH-tastic time at the 2 Disney Water Parks! They are magical places for catching sunshine and waves, with exhilarating slides and amazing water attractions.

Please take a look at the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page. Note there are various attractions access categories throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Most Disney Water Parks attractions require Guests to transfer from their ECV/wheelchair to the attraction, either by themselves or with the assistance of a member of their party. Since you can walk short distances, this shouldn't be a problem.

Methods of accessibility vary from attraction to attraction at the 2 Disney Water Parks. Here are just a couple of examples for water rides where the use of stairs is completely unnecessary. To experience Crush 'n' Gusher at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park follow the signage for ECV/wheelchair access. It will lead to an elevator, which takes you to the top. After you take the plunge down the waterslide, your ECV/wheelchair will be waiting for you by the pool area below. Also, at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park you may access Melt-Away Bay from the pathway, the ramp from the Boardwalk or the zero-depth entry points.

It might please you to hEAR that water wheelchairs are also available for use in the shallow water areas. At Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, ask at the Beach Haus. At Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, please inquire at Singapore Sal's. A lifeguard may be able to offer you additional information too. It's also important to note that wheelchairs will only be permitted in water up to the axle on the main wheels.

Wishing you a most magical vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!
