It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Matthew! It looks like face coverings are going to be a part of our world for the near future, so I think it's a great idea to think about what kind you find most comfortable to wear for a period of a few hours or longer. With your trip to Walt Disney World Resort coming up really soon, I'm sure you'll want to get your orders placed soon so that your whole family will have ample face coverings to last through your vacation!
While neck gaiter style masks are not expressly prohibited, they don't adhere to the rules of how Disney has asked us to cover our faces to protect ourselves and the guests around us. If you click on the "Face Coverings" link on the
Know Before You Go page, you'll find all of the requirements for appropriate face coverings, including that they fully cover your mouth and nose and are secured with ties or ear loops. The neck gaiter style mask does not fasten with loops or ties, so if you're planning on bringing it with you I recommend that you bring some conventional face masks with you as well if you're asked by a Cast Member to change. The masks with loops and ties are really easy to make and you can choose fun fabric to reflect your favorite characters, sports teams, or anything else you can imagine! Masks are also for sale pretty much everywhere online now, including on
shopDisney.com. I purchased the Mickey and Minnie Mouse set for myself and I can't wait to wear them to the Most Magical Place On Earth later this year!
Have a magical day, Matthew!
