    Hello! I am going to WD from July 8-20 incl. with my 6 yr old who still has no clue he's going! Do you recommend we get a fridge? Bring snacks? We are not renting a car would it be walking distance to the store? Any other suggestions would be great!

    Oh my goodness---a surprise trip! How fun is that?!

    It is a super good (and frugal) idea to bring your own snacks. A fridge is nice---but not necessary to me unless you are planning on making actual meals. If you just want one to keep drinks cold, I'd just go with ice or cold drinks from the shops.

    There is not a grocery store for you to walk to per se. But the "gift shops" in the resorts are the Wal-Marts of gift shops! They have food, baby items, toiletries and souvenirs---everything you could ever want! And there is always a restaurant (or three) at the resorts. So if you need food you always have a place to go! Also, there is a neat service called GardenGrocer.com. You can buy food from an online grocery store and they deliver it to your resort. You can have bags of groceries waiting for you when you arrive! It's not a Disney service but they deliver to all Disney resorts.

    My only other suggestion for food is to SPLURGE on a Mickey ice cream bar! :)
