Hey there, hi there Nathan! Thanks for stopping by planDisney where you're always welcome as can be.
I recently returned from
Disney's Contemporary Resort, and during my stay, I visited
The Wave...of American Flavors several times for both dine-in and carryout; I'd be happy to share my experience! Before I start talking about the desserts I sampled during my visit, which is sure to get your tummy all rumbly, keep in mind that during busy times, you may see a message on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App letting you know that
Mobile Order for resort restaurants is only available to Guests of that resort.
If you are eligible to place an order at one of the restaurants at Disney's Contemporary Resort, I'm happy to report that The Wave...of American Flavors accepts Mobile Orders for carryout meals and snacks. Simply click the + button at the bottom of the My Disney Experience Mobile App's home screen and select "Order Food." From here, click on The Wave...of American Flavors, and choose your treats; I highly recommend the
Chocolate Flight! You can place a Mobile Order at any time of day for pick up during the restaurant's operating hours. Be sure to double-check that they'll still be serving after the
Magic Kingdom Park has closed. Today, for example, the latest pick-up window ends at 9:00 PM, the same time the park closes.
If you'd prefer to sit down and enjoy your treat in the restaurant, but don't want to commit to an Advanced Dining Reservation, consider checking for same-day availability using the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Waitlist feature on the My Disney Experience Mobile App. My group used this several times during our visit, and experienced wait times from five minutes to thirty minutes depending on the restaurant and time of day. Use that same + sign at the bottom of the home screen, but this time click on "Check Dining Availability" and after inputting your party size and selecting the date, choose "Now" under "Search by Time." If you won't be a Guest at Disney's Contemporary Resort, a reservation is the best way to experience the Wave...of American Flavors, and you are welcome to make one just for dessert. Hakuna Matata!
I hope this is helpful, Nathan, and that you have a wonderful stay in Walt Disney World later this month. If your sweet tooth is as strong as mine, be sure to stop by the
Contempo Café where they're creating some tasty treats. The Monorail Cupcake is a must-do for any cookies and cream fan!
Thanks again for visiting us at planDisney, and have a magical day!
