Hi Mary! Welcome to planDisney!
No matter how many times you have visited the
Walt Disney World Resort, there is nothing quite like the first trip with your toddler. My love for Walt Disney World really started the first time we took my daughter, and I got a chance to watch the magic through her eyes. Things do get a bit more difficult when you travel with an infant and you need to be flexible in your plans. You are definitely on the right track with limiting each day to only one park.
Mary, I did confirm that you will be able to visit the Water Park on the third day. Go ahead and purchase a
2-day ticket and add on the Water Park and Sports Option to it. It will give you a five-day window in order to use the tickets. Since you will only be in Orlando for a total of three days, I assume you will most likely use them on three consecutive days. Once you have the tickets purchased, remember to make
park reservations for the parks you wish to visit on the correct dates. The Water Park does not require a park reservation at this time.
Currently,
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is opening and operating after a lengthy refurbishment. I'm looking forward to my next vacation to plan a day there as well! Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed for the time being and is now under refurbishment itself. There is no timetable for its return but I would stay informed by following the
Disney Parks Blog for any updates and announcements!
Since you are traveling with an infant, I did want to mention the
Baby Care Centers that were just remodeled and are now open. You can find one at each of the four theme parks and can come in handy if you need a private changing room or feeding area. I've included a video to this answer that shows all of the features of these Centers.
Mary, I hope you have a magical trip with your son! These are moments as parents that we will cherish for years to come!
See ya real soon!
