Hiya Lisa! Welcome to planDisney! It's great to have you stop by!
While the four theme parks get most of the attention,
Disney Water Parks are equally as fun! I just returned from a visit to
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and I was blown away by the incredible theming and amazing attractions that the park has.
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is right on par as well, with a completely different vibe than its counterpart. Currently, Typhoon Lagoon is open and operating while Blizzard Beach is closed for a lengthy refurbishment.
Disney Water Parks are open year-round unless one is closed for a refurbishment. Since there are two on property, Disney always does its best to keep one operating at a time. You will need to consider the weather, as the water parks will close on certain days when the temperatures drop too low. December can be a tricky month but for the most part, average high temperatures tend to be around 75°F. If you are comfortable swimming in this weather, then you'll have a great time at either park.
One thing that I loved was how family-friendly the water parks are. There were multiple attractions that our entire family could ride together, including our two young children. And let me tell you, each one was thrilling even for the adults. While each water park will have different types of slides, there will definitely be something for Guests of all ages.
There are also fantastic food and drink offerings at both parks. We enjoyed Fish Tacos and Lettuce Wraps from
Typhoon Tilly's. There were ice cream and dessert options for a sweet treat for our kids. We really enjoyed spending a full day here!
Lisa, I hope you have a magical time during your upcoming trip! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
