Which waterpark would be better to go to with a semi timid 5 year boy?

Hi Gareth! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is right around the corner! It sounds like you are ready to experience some splash-tacular fun with your kiddo at one of the Walt Disney World water parks. With a hot summer under way, that is a great idea!

While both water parks have areas just for the smaller kids, I tend to lean towards Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park because it is a little bit milder for the young ones. As a mom of two little ones myself, I can tell you that attractions like Ketchakiddee Creek and Bay Slides are perfect for my children. Both attractions have height maximums, meaning they are made especially for kids around your son's age.

My advice is to arrive to the water park early to snag some seats in the shade. It will be a welcome relief to rest in the shade for a bit during such a fun-filled day! Then just sit back, relax and float away down Castaway Creek!

I hope this helps as you plan your visit, Gareth! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
