If I do the Watercrat Adventure in Castaway Cay are there lockers to keep my beach bag in? If not would I be allowed to wear a backpack or Fanny pack? What do people normally do with their belongings? Same questions for the paddle boats.

    Ahoy there, Laura!

Welcome back to planDisney! I can already tell your day at Castaway Cay is going to be one for the memory books! With a Watercraft Ski Adventure and a paddle boat ride on your itinerary, you’re clearly charting a course for fun—and I love that you’re thinking ahead about the logistics. Captain Minnie would be proud of your planning skills!

Now, let’s dive in! While Castaway Cay is Disney magic through and through, one thing it doesn’t currently offer is lockers. So sadly, there’s no official place to stash your beach bag while you’re zipping across that crystal-clear water.

As for wearing a backpack or any kind of bag, it really depends on your guide’s instructions. That said, since life jackets are required for both the Watercraft Ski Adventure and paddle boats, wearing a bag during the excursion may not be possible or comfortable.

But don’t worry—I’ve got a treasure trove of ideas! Here’s what my crew and I usually do:

If your adventure is early in the day, apply that sunscreen before disembarking the ship, toss on your sea legs, and leave your beach gear in your stateroom. Both the Watercraft Adventure and paddle boats are close to the ship, so you can easily pop back onboard afterward to grab your bag and return to the beach for the rest of your Castaway Cay fun. I call it a “quick port pit stop.”

Another tried-and-true method? If you’ve got a member of your crew who’s not hopping on a jet ski or paddle boat, ask them to hang out onshore and keep an eye on your belongings—bonus points if they score a shady spot near the beach bar for everyone to regroup later!

Lastly—and I know this takes a little faith, trust, and maybe a pinch of pixie dust—you can leave your items on a beach chair near your adventure check-in. My family and I have done this more than once, and thankfully, we’ve never run into any issues. Still, I always recommend keeping valuables (like phones) to a minimum or safely zipped inside a waterproof pouch if you must bring them.

I hope this helps you feel prepared to make a splash at Castaway Cay without worrying about your gear! You’re going to have a whale of a time, and I can already picture the breeze, the blue Bahamian waters, and the big smiles all around.

Sea ya real soon with a splash of April fun and a boatload of Disney magic,
