I can see that there is water transportation to the Magic Kingdom. Is it available between WDW Fort Wilderness Campground Resort & Contemporary Resort for dining at Chef Mickeys? Can we find that schedule on-line? Thanks.

Hi there, Deb! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so happy you stopped by to see us again!

Deb, your question is right up my alley. We love staying in the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground - and we also love Chef Mickey's! We do this all the time. So yes, you can absolutely take a boat launch from Fort Wilderness to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Just head to the dock at the Fort Wilderness Marina and veer toward the Blue Flag Launch, which circles the lake between Fort Wilderness, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. (The Green Launch goes directly to the Magic Kingdom Park). There's no posted schedule, but they generally run about every 15-20 minutes throughout the day. You can ask a Cast Member at the marina for more details.

It's a fairly quick trip to Disney's Contemporary Resort, but you'll want to allow plenty of time in case you need to wait for the next launch. Also, the stop rotations vary, so your launch may dock at Wilderness Lodge before heading to the Contemporary. I'd build in an extra 30 minutes or so.

Deb, the boat launches are such a fun way to get around Walt Disney World! The captains love to interact with Guests, and they make the journey downright jovial! I just know you're going to have a blast floating on Bay Lake.

I hope this helps you plan a practically perfect Walt Disney World vacation, Deb. Please come see us again soon!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
