Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Allen!
Welcome to planDisney! We are THRILLED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to
Disney World! Get ready, because you’re about to step into a place where every corner holds a new adventure and every day feels like a celebration. From meeting your favorite Disney character to hopping on attractions that make your heart race with joy, it’s going to be unforgettable.
So, are you ready for some MAGICAL news? Since you are staying at
Port Orleans Riverside, you can still take advantage of
water transportation that will take you directly to
Disney Springs. The Sassagoula River Cruise is a charming little boat ride that winds its way down the river, connecting Port Orleans (both Riverside and
French Quarter) with the heart of Disney Springs. It’s a truly relaxing way to travel, with no buses and no crowds. The ride itself usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes, which is perfect for a calm transition from your resort to all the fun waiting for you. Plus, it drops you off at the Marketplace dock, which means you’ll be just a short walk away from all the shopping, dining, and, of course,
Cirque du Soleil!
That being said, it’s always smart to plan ahead, because while the boats are an incredible way to travel, they are still at the mercy of Florida weather and water conditions. If a big storm is rolling in, or if water levels become too high or low, the service may be paused for safety reasons. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s good to know so you’re not caught off guard. The good news is, if that happens, buses are always a backup option and will still get you there in plenty of time for your Cirque du Soleil show.
Once you arrive at the Marketplace dock, just follow the walkway signs toward the West Side of Disney Springs. You’ll pass through the Marketplace shops and the Town Center area, and then as you head toward the West Side, Cirque du Soleil’s Drawn to Life theater will come into view right by the giant white tent across from
House of Blues. The walk is approximately 10 to 15 minutes at an easy pace, so allow yourself a little extra time to stroll and maybe even grab a treat along the way.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way!
Have a MAGICAL day!
