Hey there Wilson and welcome back to planDisney!
I remember when you
asked my planDisney pal Greg about wanting to visit both of the Water Parks on your upcoming visit and while
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park may still be under refurbishment this summer, I hope that you'll be able to make the most of your time at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park! I used to be a barefoot adventurer until I experienced first-hand (or perhaps "first-foot" in this case) just how hot the ground can be after a few hours in the middle of the Floridian summer;
just looking at the map right now I can vividly remember the stretches of concrete in places near
Leaning Palms or
Crush 'n' Gusher that may not have as many conveniently-placed water sprayers to cool down the pathways. (Stepping out on some of those sun-baked patches really felt like walking on sunshine, if you catch my drift!)
I certainly learned the value of wearing water shoes when wandering about the Water Parks, and you'll be happy to hear that as of my most recent visit last week, you are still absolutely welcome to wear them! Be aware that the
dress code policy in place may apply to water shoes that have zippers, and we noticed Cast Members at some attractions like the
Storm Slides asking guests to take off their footwear and hang onto them instead as they went down. If you're ever unsure, it's always worth checking with
the Guest Services team on the way in but I definitely enjoyed my day alongside so many other aquatic adventurers in water shoes all over the place! Hope this helped, Wilson; we look forward to
seeing you back at planDisney again for more of your future questions ahead of your upcoming visits!
Wishing you all the best on all your watery wanderings this summer!
