of the 2 water parks in Disney which one would you say would be more appropriate for a 5 year old

Hello Jeremy!  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I love both of the water parks at Walt Disney World, they are so much fun!

I will tell you that Typhoon Lagoon is my all time favorite water park.  You simply cannot beat the wave pool with waves big enough to surf on.  However, when I started visiting Walt Disney World with a child of my own, I had to reevaluate my water park situation.  I think, hands down, Blizzard Beach is the best water park to visit with small children.  There are far more attractions that the whole family can enjoy at Blizzard Beach.  My daughter loves to race down the Toboggan Racers which sends you head first down a slippery slope and across the finish line.  She also loves one of the world's longest family raft rides, Teamboat Springs.  Tike's Peak is a play area designed specifically for smaller children with several scaled down water slides and an inner-tube ride.  The theme of Blizzard Beach is a lot of fun for kids (and adults).  Who doesn't love stomping around in the "snow" while wearing a swimsuit?

If you are only planning on visiting one water park while you are on vacation, I would go with Blizzard Beach.  If you can squeeze in both, just for fun, go ahead and do it!  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.  Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
