Hi! Which water park would you recommend for someone with mobility issues. Not from a ride/slide perspective, but just from getting around the park. Also, do they both have cabanas to rent? Thanks

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Kellen!

My son has mobility issues as well. We love Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon but we found Blizzard Beach a little easier to navigate for him. The theming at Typhoon Lagoon is excellent but it involves a lot of sand so it makes it a little more difficult for him to navigate around.

Both of the water parks offer private areas to rent. At Typhoon Lagoon, you can rent Beachcomber Shacks or Getaway Glen's. At Blizzard Beach, they are called Polar Patios and Lodge Picnics.

With the Getaway Glen's and Lodge Picnic's you get 4 chairs, an umbrella, a table and 4 towels.

We tried the Beachcomber Shacks and Polar Patios at both parks. They include seating for 6, a stocked cooler with ice and bottled water (key for me on a hot summer day), drink mugs with unlimited refills, towel service for 6 and your own private locker right there. You also get a personal attendant to make sure your every need is met which means no waiting in line for food. This is great for me since I have 2 young boys including 1 with special needs. Having someone there to assist us helps ensure our day is relaxing and stress free.

Pricing for both varies by season but the Beachcomber Shacks and Polar Patios are much more expensive. At first, I thought it sounded like too much money but when I thought about it, I was happy to know we'd have a reserved spot in the shade to come back to all day and didn't have to be there as soon as the park opened to get a spot. When you break the cost down per hour per person and take into consideration all the perks that's included, its really not that bad.

Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.  Summer and holiday rentals go fast. Same day rentals are based on availability only at the parks.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
