2 water park questions. Is one or the other better for small children? My daughter is 6. Second, we are staying at the All-Star Sports resort. Blizzard Beach looks close on the map. No car. Buses, I hear, take up to 2 hours. Can we walk there and back?

Hello Lynette! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I'm so excited to know that you are considering visiting one of the Water Parks during your Walt Disney World vacation. My family and I love both of them and enjoy spending as much time as we can at either one when the weather is warm. Both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park have great kid friendly areas. You'll find so much for the whole family at each one of them. It's really personal preference but when my daughter was around that age we probably spent more time at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Some of my favorite attractions for that age are the Toboggan Racers, the family raft ride Teamboat Springs, and the wave pool Melt-Away Bay. Be sure to add those to your must-do list while you are there!

While you won't be able to walk from Disney's All-Star Sports Resort to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, you don't have to worry. I've never heard of a bus ride taking up to two hours, not even on the busiest of days. My family and I take the complimentary bus transportation to and from the parks all of the time and are always very pleased with how quickly it gets us from one place to another. I think you are probably looking at a 10-15 minute bus ride with traffic to and from Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. If you absolutely do not want to take the bus, I suggest using Disney's Minnie Van Service. This service can be used via the Lyft mobile app so be sure to have that downloaded on your smartphone before your trip. When you are ready to go somewhere, simply open the Lyft app and select the Minnie Van vehicle. If the Minnie Van isn't the default displayed just swipe through the option until you come across it. Prices are based on distances traveled but you can handle all of that and payment conveniently within the app.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, I'd love for you to come back and ask me.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
