Which water park is better for 2 active boys, ages 7 and 5? Both boys swim and the older one likes water slides.

    Susan:

To me, especially if your older boy enjoys slides, I'd choose Blizzard Beach.  Don't get me wrong: both offer lazy rivers, both sport many slides, and both water parks are fun!  But for active children, BB's variety of slides fits the bill!  Not only do they have the pre-teen park with smaller slides (that I'd suggest you START out on), but they also have a longer family raft ride than Typhoon Lagoon and the ski lift that is probably my favorite feature.

Typhoon Lagoon's pull understandably is the large wave pool and its shark reef, but even with good swimmers, the wave pool is crowded and the wave's strong.  It'd be better when your boys are a little older.  The same is true for the shark reef where the water is very cold and the water very deep for snorkeling.  Again, better saved for another trip in just a few more years!

I don't think the variety of slides at Blizzard Beach will disappoint!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
