Which water park is best for 1st grader and 2nd grader. ? Can u drive there from Fort Wilderness cabins? Is there any Shade or place to sit for grandparents?

Hello Mary!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Walt Disney World Resort Water Parks are an Endlessly Magical experience for Guests looking to experience the Wetter side of Disney and to cool off from the hot Florida sun.

When deciding between Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park for young children, I would give the edge to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. The melting-snow theme makes for a larger-than-life experience and wonderful Tike's Peak Water Play Area makes it a truly memorable experience for kids.

In terms of transportation, you are definitely able to drive your own vehicle from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and I have heard that with ample parking available that many Guests prefer the option of driving themselves than relying on the Complimentary Disney Resort Transportation.

You can find the best directions for driving to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park using the My Disney Experience Mobile App and swiping to the "Directions" tab.

While there is plenty of shaded areas around Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park and especially Tike's Peak, I recommend you arrive early in the day as Guests tend to fill up the shadiest and most comfortable locations and peak hours make finding a preferable spot a little more difficult.

    Have a Splash-tacular Adventure!
