Which water park is best for ages 5-11? And when will Blizzard Beach be open? Is the water temp., bearable for the parents in early April? Thank you!

    Hi Jill!
Your question came at a perfect time as I am also trying to choose which Water Park to visit during our upcoming trip. We love both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach so it can be difficult to choose.

However, with the age of your children I am going to recommend Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park for your fun in the sun. Typically Blizzard Beach is open in early April and the water is always heated to a comfortable temperature. Both of the Water Parks have areas for younger children, but only Disney's Blizzard Beach has Ski Patrol Training Camp, designed especially for “tweeners” like your children.  This blizzard themed park also has Tike's Peak, designed with plenty of fun for kids under 48".  Melt-Away Bay, the Water Parks wave pool, is also better suited for younger children than Disney's Typhoon Lagoon's Surf Pool. An added bonus is Teamboat Springs, an epic raft ride your whole family can enjoy together.

No matter which Water Park you choose, I am certain you will have a splash-tastic time! If you have more questions, don't hesitate to come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, we love to help.

    See ya real soon!
