Welcome to planDisney! It's been a wild few days with the start of the new
Lightning Lane Multi Pass system. There has been some testing by my fellow planDisney panelists and we have found varied success while using it.
While we figure out the true timing and availability, it is important to note that in the end, guests who book in advance are guaranteed three Lightning Lane entrance times per day. Guests staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel can book 7 days prior for their entire stay up to 14 days. That gives them a tremendous advantage over guests who are reserving attractions the morning of their visit. Everyone else will have to wait 3 days before their Park day. My panelist friend
Lizzie B. was able to recently grab in a wild day of Park hopping Lightning Lane return times for
Kilimanjaro Safaris,
Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and
Slinky Dog Dash! She stated that she and her husband were diligent in refreshing and modifying times and attractions. She did start in the morning but felt that it was a good value. She also started making her bookings 4 days before she arrived as it was a last-minute trip. She said she was able to do all of the attractions she wanted to and found that reassuring.
Now, her story is not going to be the guaranteed situation for everyone else. I highly anticipate this system to be tweaked and modified over the next few months. There is a chance even more attractions such as character meet-and-greets will return as an option which will make this even more of a great value. Don't forget that as people modify throughout the day new time slots appear.
In the end Donald, I suggest you keep watching the
My Disney Experience App just like I am and remember that this is an optional service. Just like when Disney Genie+ started it was a little bumpy but guests found ways to make it work for them. Unlike Disney Genie+ you are guaranteed three attractions with the potential for more and payment does not need to happen till you see the available attractions. You can make an informed decision and after you have paid modify any times you don't like.
