I watched a video saying Disney World is getting rid of the carpets and bathtubs. We are coming in 2020 and will have small children who don't take showers. What resorts are keeping the tubs?

    Hi Christina!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting that you're bringing your Mouseketeers to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Be sure to check back with both the Disney Parks Blog and the Disney Parks Moms Panel Planning Videos to stay up to date on all things Walt Disney World Resort with this age range.

The rumors are true! Many Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are going through some fantastic refurbishments to maximize space and keep their rooms feeling fresh and modern. Most of these changes are added storage, non-carpet flooring for better cleaning, and some rooms are even getting murphy beds that fold when not in use for more space for activities.

I can confirm that rooms are converting to stand-in showers without bathtubs. But what's interesting is that only some rooms at each Disney Resort Hotel are ditching their tubs vs. every room. Many Disney Moms Panelists were at Walt Disney World Resort a few weeks ago and a bunch of us stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort, which recently completed the renovation of every single one of their guest rooms. My room had a bathtub, but my good friend Lindsey N's room, which was only four doors away from mine, did not.

Many more Disney Resort Hotels will be receiving updates between now and the time of your visit. I would still book the Disney Resort Hotel of your dreams, and then at check-in you can specifically request a room with a tub. You can also book your room by calling the Disney Resort Reservation Line at (407) 939-1936, who should have more insight to the changes coming to all Disney Resort Hotels by the time of your visit.

We'll See You in 2020, Christina!
