I have watched the Disney Christmas parade for many years on Christmas morning, does this same parade take place at the park during November and December? We are planning a trip there next year in the middle of November.

    Hi Sheri,

Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade takes place in November and December as part of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, a special ticket event on select nights at Magic Kingdom. The first party usually occurs during the first week of November and the last takes place the week before Christmas.

The party is great fun with special fireworks, entertainment and treats. Admission is limited, too, which means there tend to be short lines for popular attractions.

The version of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade that we all watch on Christmas morning -- with the celebrity entertainment -- is usually taped during the first weekend of December.

I love visiting Walt Disney World in November as a way to kick off the holiday season. By mid-month, the decorations are in place at all the parks and resorts, so you will be able to get a great taste of the holiday season during your visit.

The schedule for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party should be announced in late spring, and tickets will go on sale then. Please know that some nights sell out well in advance, so I recommend buying tickets as soon as you know what your travel schedule will be.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let us know what we can do to help as you make your plans for next fall. Enjoy!
