I would like to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks while dining at Wailulu at the Polynesian resort. What would be the best time dine at Wailulu to see the fireworks in August? We were hoping for 8:30pm reservation via Disney dining plan.

    Welina April!

Welcome to planDisney. The Wailulu Bar & Grill at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has tropical vibes and breathtaking views along the water’s edge of Seven Seas Lagoon. You’ll be surrounded by Polynesian-inspired artwork that was crafted exclusively for this location. Some pieces have even been created with recycled materials and reclaimed fishing nets.

Alrighty, I know Wailulu Bar & Grill can be very popular for evening dining because it is an amazing place to enjoy the Magic Kingdom's nighttime entertainment. Since Happily Ever After usually starts at 10 PM I would plan on trying to get a reservation by at least 9 PM. This should give you plenty of time to dine and see the nighttime spectacular. If you're unable to get the day and time you would like, please keep checking availability regularly. I’ve found that guests quite often change or cancel their plans, and you can grab their reservation. You can also swing by when they open around 5 pm to see if they have any openings that evening. The final option is to join the walk-up waitlist using the My Disney Experience app while you are at or near the resort.

If you are successful in getting a reservation, I would highly recommend saving room for a delicious dessert. I think you would love either the DOLE Whip Sundae with hibiscus meringue and passion fruit crispies or the Chocolate Cake with salted caramel ganache and chantilly cream infused with the essence of Kona coffee. My wife and I love to order one of each and share, so we can enjoy both.

April, I hope you and your family have an absolutely magical time at Walt Disney World and that all your dining dreams come true.  Please stop back by with any further questions, and we’ll be happy to answer.

    Aloha,
    Robert
