Hey there, hi there, Jayme! Welcome to planDisney. We are so glad you've dropped by with your question!
Oh boy! While I love adventure, I have to say your question makes me sweat just a bit thinking about you trying to get every last bit of magic out of your visit before your flight. Is there a chance that you could possibly make it to Los Angeles International Airport, possibly, but the likelihood of it working out perfectly is most likely slim? There are just so many variables to this question that makes it near impossible to know for sure as much as I do want you to be able to see
Wondrous Journeys with fireworks.
I tried doing a quick breakdown to see how likely this could happen. Typically Wondrous Journeys with or without fireworks happens at 9:30 p.m., each night. The show is approximately 14 minutes. Even if you were at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., crowds can be intense leaving the park between those watching the show and those just trying to leave before it's over. I'd give yourself at least 5 minutes or more to be able to get out of the exit gates. The biggest variable is not knowing how you are getting there. Are you doing a
rideshare? That could easily be another 5-10 minutes to get through the Esplanade and make your way through the bus loading area to Harbor Blvd. If you are parked at
Toy Story Parking Area or Mickey and Friends Parking Structures, you could be waiting in lines to get on buses/trams for a bit. This could easily take you 20 minutes and quite possibly longer to get to the parking structures and then you still need to find your car and get out of the parking areas to start the actual travel time. That's easily another 20 minutes. A quick search says it will take approximately 40 minutes from the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure to LAX in a perfect scenario. I'm here to tell you there rarely is a perfect scenario in LA traffic. As a planner, I am not sure I could in good conscience tell you that it's possible because as much as I want you to be able to see Wondrous Journeys and get every last second of magic that you can, I would hate for your visit to end in a very unmagical way by missing your flight.
Jayme, while I can't give you a definitive answer, I hope I was able to help you figure out all the steps to getting out of there and if you think you want to give your chances a try.
