    We want to watch the Electrical Water Pageant, but are not staying at any of the hotels on the show route. Are we permitted to see the show without a hotel or dinner reservation?

    Welcome to planDisney! 

    It looks like you are doing some fabulous planning for an upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! It may be possible to see the Electrical Water Pageant without having a resort hotel or advanced dining reservation, depending of course on the operational updates at the time of your visit. If you are visiting Magic Kingdom that day, you have a few options.

    You could walk to either Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. At Disney's Contemporary Resort, you will need to head to the back of the resort towards Bay Lake. From the walkway to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, we saw part of the pageant on our visit in September. If walking is not an option, you could try taking Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation to either resort.

    Having an advanced dining reservation is the most assured way to see the Electrical Water Pageant if you are not staying at a resort hotel with a view. There are a number of dining options at resort hotels with viewing possibilities. I would suggest that you make a dining reservation that will leave you enough time to find a good viewing spot for the show. Disney's Grand Floridian Cafe is one of our favorite places to dine and it has proven to be more affordable than other options. We are also excited to experience Steakhouse 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort on our next visit, so that could be another option for you if you change your mind about dining.

    Lauren, I hope you are able to see the water pageant! I still remember when our girls first saw this pageant on one of our earlier visits with them as we stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Their eyes lit up. That memory is priceless!
