Ahoy, Angela! Welcome to planDisney. You are in for such an adventure. I have loved every Disney Cruise Line vacation I have ever been on, but the Disney Wonder in Alaska is an experience unlike any other. My kids still talk about this cruise in detail and they will remember it for the rest of their lives. Me, too.
I am sorry you weren't able to get a reservation for brunch at
Palo. I know what it's like and can share what I learned with my recent experience. On embarkation day, the dining team will set up a location to assist Guests with requests, including changing
seating times for nightly dining and making Palo and
Remy reservations. Traditionally on the Disney Wonder, this has been in the
French Quarter Lounge, which is on Deck 3 as you are headed aft toward Tiana's Place. If it is not there, you can ask Guest Services, and they will be able to direct you to their location.
A couple of tips:
- Mark your calendar for your online check-in. I don't know if you are a stay-up-until-midnight-to-check-in-and-get-the-earliest-Port-Arrival-Time-possible type of cruiser, but the earlier you board, the closer you will be to the front of the line for onboard dining requests.
- Keep checking the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Palo brunch is popular and people do not often cancel, but you never know.
- Book dinner at Palo. If you can switch to brunch on board, awesome! If not, you will still get your time with an amazing meal, a spectacular view and impeccable service. One thing I had heard but had not processed is that it seems to never get dark. You can have dinner late in the evening, and the sunlight will still be dancing on the waves.
I hope you are able to get everything you wish. I have no doubt you will have an amazing time. The wildlife and the views make for quite a mind-blowing American safari.
