Booking your vacation close to your arrival date should not change the price versus if you booked in the near future. The room rate is set based on the season. The same goes for the Disney Dining Plans and having a set price for the year. The only additional charge you might have is if there is a price increase for the park tickets. This usually happens once a year, so the longer you wait to book your trip, the more of a possibility that the tickets will increase.

The main thing I will caution you against is that many Disney Resorts are booked full most of the year. As soon as you can book, I would encourage you to so that you are able to reserve your desired resort.
