I've been wanting to take my youngest son to Disney World forever, and my hope is to book the weekend of his 15th birthday 9/30/21 to 10/3/21, which is the 50th anniversary of WDW as you know. But I have not yet been able to book a resort stay. Help!

    Hello, dear Dawn!

Let me begin by saying that I'm honored to answer your question. I'm thrilled that you came to planDisney to let us help you plan your son's birthday trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. This double celebration is going to be absolutely epic!

For now, all Guests can already book 2021 vacations up until September 26. The Walt Disney World Resort hasn't announced when bookings beyond this date will be available, but the best place to know when it happens is the Disney Parks Blog

Until you can book the Disney Resort hotel that's perfect for this birthday celebration, I encourage you to dive deep into the possibilities. I often do that as a way to find a place that's a perfect match for my family's goals for each given trip, and it's so much fun. It became a kind of obsession over the past months, and I've been using YouTube walk-throughs as my windows into the magic!

I hope you have a wonderful time discovering all about the beautiful Disney Resort hotels yourself, Dawn, but I'll also share my favorites to inspire you. First, I absolutely love the whimsical decoration at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The theming in the grounds and the pools is fantastic, and the Disney Skyliner access is a convenient add-on. The all-new Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is also super impressive. It offers excellent dining options and some of the most modern rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort. The showers there are super spacious!

In the most luxurious end of the spectrum, I have to recommend the studios at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. They all have a kitchenette with a microwave, a sink, a toaster, and a coffee maker. They also feature two (yes, two!) bathrooms, a comfy queen bed, a queen-size sleeper sofa bed, and a single pull-down bed. They are so large that they're currently the biggest standard-type rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort. The two bathrooms could be excellent for a family traveling with a teenager!

I hope that you and your family have the most wonderful time at the Walt Disney World Resort soon, Dawn! Please let us know if you want extra tips or if you have more questions. We're always here to help!

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
