Hello, Ashly,
The
Disney Water Parks are so much fun and a great way to take a relaxing break from touring the theme parks. Of the two parks, Blizzard Beach has two children play areas:
Tike's Peak (for preschool aged children) and
Ski Patrol Training Camp (for elementary aged children).
At Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, there is only one area for children, but there is a bit more offered at
Ketchakiddee Creek, which was created for preschoolers and younger children. Because this is a larger play area, I think may be a better match for your son since he is younger.
If you'd like to enjoy the wave pool at either park, I'd encourage you to visit Blizzard Beach instead because those waves are more gentle. The ones at Typhoon Lagoon are much more intense. In fact, guests can even take surfing lessons there. Both parks also have a lazy river that your family will be able to enjoy, and your son can get a complimentary life jacket to wear throughout the day at both parks, too. If you are still undecided, there are videos of both children's play areas on YouTube if you'd like to get a better visualization of what they are like.
If we can help with any further questions as you continue to plan your trip, please let us know. We are happy to help! Wishing you a trip filled with many unforgettable moments! -
