Hi Morgan,
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question! First and foremost, please allow me to express my heartfelt gratitude to you and your family for your service and sacrifice. It’s truly an honor to help you plan a Walt Disney World Resort vacation that’s worthy of the heroes who make magical moments like these possible.
I'm so glad you're considering a split stay – it's a fun way to experience even more of the magic! Shades of Green is a fantastic option, especially for military families. Not only is it nestled right in the heart of the magic with a serene and peaceful atmosphere, but it also offers spacious rooms and exclusive rates that make it one of the best-kept secrets on Disney property. You’re going to love it!
When it comes to luggage transfers, Bell Services at Disney Resorts Collection hotels do offer complimentary transportation of your luggage to and from other Disney Resorts – it's one of those perks I personally love to take advantage of during a split stay. In the past, this service sometimes extended to Shades of Green, but when I recently spoke with a helpful Cast Member, they weren't confident that this is currently being offered. Because procedures can change, I’d recommend giving Shades of Green a quick call directly to see what their Bell Services team advises for your travel dates.
If they aren't able to provide a luggage transfer, don’t worry – there’s still a smooth and efficient way to make the switch. I’d suggest using a rideshare service like Lyft or Uber the morning of your resort change. You can typically request a ride that includes two stops—one to drop off your bags at Bell Services at your new resort, and then on to the theme park of your choice. This helps minimize any disruption to your park day while still getting everything where it needs to go.
To make things even easier, you might consider planning your second resort stay at a Disney Resort that’s either walking distance or just a monorail ride away from the park you plan to visit that day. That way, you can swing by your resort, drop off your bags, and jump right into the magic without missing a beat.
If you’re looking for resort suggestions, I’d be happy to help! Here are a few favorites across each category that offer unique perks to enhance your stay:
- Value Resort: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Perfect for families, the spacious suites and fun theming make this resort extra magical. Plus, you’ll have quick access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios via the Disney Skyliner!
- Moderate Resort: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – With a laid-back island vibe, an awesome feature pool, and its central location on the Disney Skyliner, this resort is equal parts relaxing and convenient.
- Deluxe Resort: Disney’s Beach Club Resort – If you’re looking for incredible amenities, look no further than Stormalong Bay (a mini water park in itself!) and easy walking access to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
If you have any other questions as you plan your vacation, whether it’s about dining, park strategies, or making the most of your split stay, I’m always happy to help.
