I am wanting to surprise my soon to be husband with a vacation to Disneyworld on our 1 year wedding Anniversary (July 24, 2022). I would like to do a Sat - Sat (July 23, 2022 - July 30, 2022 I think the dates are). He is also military.

    Hi Mariah! Welcome to planDisney.

My very best wishes to you and your husband-to-be on your upcoming marriage. I hope the coming weeks are filled with lovely celebrations and that you have a beautiful wedding day and a lifetime of love. Congratulations!

I would also like to give you a giant high-five for thinking in advance about a magical anniversary celebration! I would celebrate every milestone and special day at the Walt Disney World Resort if I could, and I love that you're planning to chEARs to one year in The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Since your future husband is military, you will definitely want to check out the amazing military discounts on resort hotel rooms and theme park tickets. The current military offers expire at the end of 2021; usually, the next year's military offers are released in the fall, so please keep an eye on the Special Offers page for a new discount.

In the meantime, I recommend making your Walt Disney World Resort vacation package soon so you can take advantage of the best array of options. With a vacation package, you can reserve a Disney Resorts Collection hotel room and theme park tickets all in one package price. You will pay a deposit to secure your reservation, and then you will be able to make payments if you wish between now and your visit, or pay the remainder when it is due.

When the military discounts are announced in the fall, you can call (407) 939-1936 to inquire about availability, and change your package to a room-only military promotional resort hotel reservation if you are happy with the availability and prices. Note that availability under the military discount is very limited, so flexibility is key. If you have your heart set on a particular resort hotel, I would recommend booking under the regular pricing to ensure you get the hotel you want.

There is also a military promotional theme park ticket offer; for years, the way it has worked is that you purchase tickets at your local base and then activate them by showing your military ID when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. That offer has not yet been announced for 2022 (there is no guarantee that any special offer will return, but this has been offered consistently for several years), so stay tuned. You can use these tickets together with a military discounted resort hotel room and put together a really great vacation at a great price!

I hope that helps as you begin to think about celebrating your one yEAR of happily ever after, Mariah. In our Panel Extras, we are sharing tips on selecting the perfect resort hotel for your visit, along with other vacation planning ideas and inspiration. As you continue to plan your vacation, please come back and see us if we can answer any further questions. Have a beautiful wedding day!

Wishing you a great big beautiful tomorrow,
    Robyn
