We are wanting to stay at a Disney resort. It would be our first time. We are a military family and wanted to see if they have military discounts for resorts as well? If so I’d like to book one

    Welcome to planDisney, Gabriela!

Thanks for stopping by, we are so happy to meet you, and thank you for trusting us with your question! The good news is you’ve not only come to the right spot but the right person. I’m a military spouse myself and can help you navigate this incredible offer and maybe even find a few others that might work out better depending on your family’s needs.

To take advantage of the military resort offerings, you’ll want to call the Walt Disney World Resort. A Cast Member will then be able to share all the resorts that offer the discount and that are available during the time you wish to visit as well. Tip: Ask them to run your dates for any other available offers as well. Sometimes, the Walt Disney World special offers are better than the military rate. So ask the Cast Member to check on those offerings for you, too! If you also need theme park tickets, I highly recommend checking out the Military Salute promotional ticket. They are a fantastic deal and one my family takes advantage of every year it has been offered. We usually purchase the 6-day ticket and spread out our visits throughout the ticket’s eligibility dates. We have 2-days left after visiting last month for spring break, so I’m currently trying to work our school schedule to match my husband’s so that we can squeeze in another visit sometime this month.

Gabriela, I also recommend taking advantage of the military rate for Memory Maker for your upcoming visit as well. As a military family, I understand the importance of reconnecting and bringing the family back together again during our trips. One of the easiest ways to do that is by creating new memories and capturing them with photos. Memory Maker is the perfect way to get everyone in the photo with Disney PhotoPass Photographers available throughout the theme parks. Some of our best family photos have been taken at Walt Disney World, those who know us have nicknamed us “The Disney Family” because of how many family photos we have taken in the parks.

I hope this helps answer your question and kick-starts your planning so that you can book your visit. If there’s anything else you need help with, please ask away! We here at planDisney are always more than happy to provide you with some of our best tips and must-dos. Until then, happy planning and see ya real soon!

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
