Hello Hailey,
Welcome to planDisney! Counting down to a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is always fun, but I bet the extra thrill of planning your proposal has you bursting with excitement!
You do not have to alert anyone at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that you are proposing, but I do have some tips for you, Hailey.
When you enter the theme park, you will need to go through security. This involves walking through metal detectors and possibly a bag screening if you are carrying a bag. I suggest having the plan to send your partner ahead so you can open your belongings for the Security Cast Member without revealing a major piece of the proposal!
I also suggest finding a Disney PhotoPass photographer to take photos of you during your big moment. I’m not sure where in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge you are planning to propose, but I often see several Disney PhotoPass photographers in the area near
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The
Millennium Falcon would be an epic backdrop as you pop the question.
In addition to having a
Disney PhotoPass photographer take your pictures, I recommend
purchasing Memory Maker before your visit to Walt Disney World. Imagine taking photos throughout your visit while your significant other is completely unaware of what surprise your trip holds! After the proposal, you can take photos with PhotoPass photographers, at character meet and greets, and at attractions celebrating your engagement.
Finally, make sure you stop by a
Guest Relations location for a Celebration button to commemorate your engagement. These buttons let Cast Members and fellow Guests know that you are celebrating a special occasion. In my opinion, hearing "Congratulations!" from people passing by in the theme parks just adds to the magic!
I hope this was helpful, Hailey. May the Force be with you in your proposal. If you plan on incorporating Walt Disney World in your future wedding, I recommend reaching out to
Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons! I’ll be
here at planDisney with any future planning questions you have.
Wishing you a happily ever after,
Kaitlin
